Animal Visitation
Programs
Assisting the
community outreach staff with visits to off-site locations (i.e.: nursing
homes, senior centers, schools, & etc.).

Lobby Host/Greeter
This position
will be charged with greeting visitors and giving directions
and/or mini tours
(for new to area visitors).


Dog
& Cat Friends
Walks and
exercises dogs to relieve kennel stress and aid in acclimating
to their new environment in preparation for adoption.

Photography
Pictures may
need to be taken at times of incoming/outgoing animals or the
facility itself for submission to KCSPCA files, community
newsletters, newspapers. Photographer must have experience.
Foster Care
Program
Very limited
volunteers may be accepted into the F/C program which alleviates
the strain on the SPCA and its facilities for the sole purpose
of caring for animals with special needs and animals too young
for adoption. This position requires a lot of time and patience
and knowledge of animals and their care.

Rabies Clinic Help
Volunteers
are needed for each rabies clinic the KCSPCA holds approximately (12-15 per
year)


Grooming/Bathing
Animals
This can be a
very exciting position which is required much more in the Spring
and Summer when air drying can be done. Animal grooming may
include: nail clipping, combing, washing, and blow drying.

Special
Events/Fundraisers
Needed to
assist with fundraising activities such as yard sales,
walk-a-thons, and special events like “Adopt-a-Pet” month and “Be
Kind to Animals” week.

In-Shelter Animal
Care
Cleaning
kennels and other animal living spaces with proper sanitation
and disposal. This position will have direct animal contact in
most cases.

Humane Education
Outreach
Assist
coordinator preparing booklets and teaching materials for
off-site presentations and may be asked to assist with same.
